Method of making sabudana kheer recipe

  1. First, wash the sago well in water and then filter it.
  2. After that, soak them in 1 cup of water for about 1.2 hours. When they absorb all the water, their size will increase. If you want to use larger sabudana, soak them in 2 cups of water for at least 4 hours before cooking.
  3. After this, heat milk in a pan on medium heat, when the milk starts boiling, add soaked sabudana to it.
  4. Add sugar and mix well till it dissolves completely. Cook them for about 10.15 minutes till they become transparent and soft. Make sure to keep it running continuously.
  5. Now reduce the flame and add cardamom powder and dissolved saffron to it.
  6. Cook while stirring continuously till the milk thickens, it will take about 7-10 minutes.
  7. Finally, turn off the gas and take out the prepared Sabudana Kheer in a serving bowl – garnish it with chopped almonds and serve hot or cold.
  8. The most important thing is that when the kheer cools down it will thicken, as the sabudana will absorb almost all the milk. If you want to serve it cold, add a cup of milk and mix well before serving.
