Ingredients need to make the jaggery malpua recipe

  • 1/2 cup Jaggery, grated
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp saunf
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 3/4 tsp fruit salt
  • 1/2 tsp ghee for greasing and cooking
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Some chopped pistachios

Method of making jaggery malpua recipe

  1. Heat 1/4 cup water in a broad non-stick pan, add the jaggery, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes or till the jaggery melts.
  2. Switch off the flame and take it out in a bowl to cool down a bit.
  3. Add wheat flour and fennel and mix well to leave no lumps.
  4. Add cardamom powder, fruit salt, and 2 tsp water and mix lightly.
  5. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it with a little ghee.
  6. Pour a small spoonful of batter over it and spread it evenly to make a 75 mm (3 inches) diameter circle.
  7. Cook using ghee till golden brown from both sides.
  8. And repeat the same with the remaining batter to make malpuas.
  9. Serve immediately garnished with cardamom powder and silver pistachios.
