  • 1 cup rice
  • One medium onion
  • 1 tomato
  • 6-7 peppercorns
  • 1 bay leaf
  • One big cardamom
  • 1 small cardamom

Method of making palak rice recipe

  1. Before making Palak Rice, wash and soak a cup of rice in water for some time.
  2. Boil spinach and keep it ready in advance.
  3. Heat one tablespoon oil or desi ghee in a pressure cooker. Add black pepper seeds, big cardamom, small cardamom, bay leaf, and cinnamon stick to it.
  4. Fry them lightly in ghee, add one chopped onion.
  5. After a while, add ginger garlic paste and fry it with onions. Add tomato puree to it and while frying it, add red chili, coriander powder, turmeric, and cumin powder and fry for two minutes.
  6. Drain the rice water and add it to the prepared masala, mix it lightly and add 2 cups of water. Add salt as per taste and mix.
  7. Allow 2 whistles. After the gas is released from the cooker, take out the rice in a serving bowl and serve.
