Ingredients need to make microwave sambar recipe

  • 1 cup tur dal
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp sambar masala
  • 6-8 small whole onions, peeled
  • 2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 10-15 curry leaves
  • 2-3 whole red chili oil
  • 1 tamarind pulp

Method of making microwave sambar recipe

  1. Soak tur dal in 2 cups boiling water for 1/2 hour.
  2. Add salt and onions and cover and cook on HI for 5 minutes.
  3. Stir again and cook at 70% for 10 minutes. Mash the lentils into pulp or grind them in a blender. Mix sugar and sambar masala.
  4. In another dish, mix mustard seeds, curry leaves, red chilies, and oil. Cover and cook on HI for 3 minutes.
  5. Add lentil mixture with 2 cups boiling water to it and cover and cook at 70% stirring once.
  6. Mix in tamarind and cover and cook at 30% for 5 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with idli or plain boiled rice.
