Ingredients need to make kuttu khichdi recipe

  • 2 tbsp ground roasted peanuts
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1 Green Chilli, cut into pieces
  • 1/2 inch ginger, chopped
  • 2 medium potatoes, cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup buckwheat
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp rock salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp green coriander

Method of making kuttu khichdi recipe

  1. Heat ghee or oil in a pan or vessel. Add cumin seeds and fry till they crackle.
  2. Then add green chilies and ginger and fry for a few seconds.
  3. Add the potato pieces and fry for 2 to 3 minutes till the edges of the potatoes become crisp. Keep shaking in between. It is better to cut the potatoes into small cubes so that they cook faster.
  4. Then add ground peanuts and fry for half a minute. Later add the washed buckwheat. Stirring well and fry for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Add water, sugar, salt.
  6. Cover the pan and let it boil on a low flame.
  7. Cook it till all the water is absorbed and the buckwheat is cooked well.
  8. Add coriander leaves and stir one last time.
  9. Serve hot by sprinkling lemon juice on this khichdi.
