  • 25 yeast
  • 50 sugar
  • 2 eggs

Method of making hot cross bun recipe

  1. Sieve the flour, add cinnamon and salt, nutmeg.
  2. Crumble the yeast in a small dish, sprinkle with 1 tsp sugar, prepare liquid.
  3. Heat milk, sugar, and butter together till it becomes lukewarm.
  4. Add eggs to yeast.
  5. Add to flour mixture.
  6. Knead well. Let it increase till it becomes double volume. (1/2hr)
  7. Knead in fruit. Let it rise. (10-15 minutes)
  8. Shape into rolls.
  9. Place on baking sheet.
  10. Mark the dough with a cross and keep it in a warm place. (35 to 40 minutes)
  11. Glaze it with a beaten egg.
  12. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 200°C for 15-20 minutes.
  13. When baked, brush with hot milk and sugar.
  14. Serve hot with butter.
