  • 1/4 cup wheat flour
  • 2 cups Fenugreek, chopped
  • 2 cups coriander leaves, chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame
  • 1 tsp ajwain

  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • One tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • One tablespoon jaggery
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt

Method of making dhebra recipe in English

  1. In a bowl add millet flour, wheat flour, chopped fenugreek, coriander leaves, green chilies, sesame seeds, sesame seeds, carom seeds, turmeric, black pepper, and salt.
  2. Add ghee, jaggery to 2 tbsp water, and curd and mix the ingredients well with your fingers.
  3. Knead a soft dough by adding water little by little.
  4. Do not add a lot of water at once otherwise, the dough may become sticky.
  5. The amount of water will depend on the quality of the flour used.
  6. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and keep it on the counter for 20 minutes.
  7. Divide the dough into 14-15 equal-sized pieces. Take a piece and make a smooth ball out of it.
  8. Press it between your palms. Wrap it in some dry flour and roll it gently to make a thick circle (0.5 cm).
  9. Heat oil in a pan on high flame for frying. When the oil becomes hot, reduce the flame to medium.
  10. Put 4-5 dhebras in hot oil and fry till they turn brown from the bottom (4-5 minutes).
  11. Flip them with a fork and fry on the other side as well.
  12. Don’t be in a hurry to turn the dhebras until they are brown and set, otherwise they may break while turning.
  13. Fry on medium-low flame only. Keep flipping them once while frying.
  14. Once the dhebras are nicely browned and crispy, take them out on a plate covered with a kitchen towel.
  15. Serve hot or after coming to room temperature.
