  • Mustard leaves – 500 grams,
  • Spinach – 150 grams,
  • Bathua – 100 grams,
  • Tomato – 250 grams,
  • Onion – 01 (finely chopped),
  • Garlic – 05 buds (finely chopped),
  • Green chili – 02 nos.,
  • Ginger – 01 big piece,
  • Mustard oil – 02 tbsp
  • Butter/Ghee – 02 tbsp
  • Asafoetida – 02 pinch,
  • Cumin – 1/2 tsp,
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp,
  • Corn flour – 1/4 cup,
  • Red chili powder – 1/4 tsp,
  • Salt – as per taste.

Method of Making sarson saag recipe

  1. For the sarson saag recipe, first of all, clean and wash the mustard, spinach, and bathua leaves thoroughly. After this put them in a sieve so that the water drains out.
  2. After this, cut them roughly and put them in the cooker along with a cup of water, and boil on medium flame till one whistle comes. After this take off the cooker and wait till it whistles.
  3. Now cut tomatoes and ginger into small pieces and then put them in a mixer with green chilies and grind them finely.
  4. After that put a spoonful of oil in the pan and heat it. When the oil is hot, add cornflour and fry till it becomes light brown.
  5. After taking out the flour in a bowl, put the remaining oil in the pan and heat it, add asafetida and cumin seeds and fry for ten seconds.
  6. After this add onion and garlic and fry till it becomes light pink. This is an important part of the part, so do it carefully.
