Necessary ingredients need to make the Ghugni recipe

  • 2 cups soaked and boiled white peas
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt, as per taste
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves

Method of making Ghugni recipe

  1. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, add cumin and bay leaves and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
  2. Add onion and ginger-garlic paste and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Add tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin powder, garam masala, salt, and 2 tbsp of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes. 
  4. Keep moving it from time to time.
  5. Add boiled white peas, 1 cup of water, and coriander, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 7 to 4 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  6. Serve hotly
