Saag paneer recipe easy to make at home

Saag Paneer Recipe: Along with the call of winter, the market is full of green leafy vegetables. Today we are making saag paneer vegetables by mixing lightly roasted cheese with these green leafy vegetables, which is one of the most popular vegetables in Punjab and North India.

Necessary ingredients need to make Saag Paneer Recipe

  • Juice leaves – 250 grams
  • Radish leaves – 2-3 radish leaves
  • Spinach – 250 grams
  • Fenugreek – 125 grams
  • Coriander – 50-60 grams
  • Green chili – 2
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida – 1 pinch
  • Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
  • Oil – 2-3 tablespoons
  • Ghee – 1 tablespoon
  • Paneer – 200 grams
  • Tomato – 3 (200 grams)
  • Gram flour – 1 tablespoon
  • Salt 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Ginger paste – 1 tsp
  • Red chili – 4 teaspoons

Method of making Saag Paneer Recipe

  1. Clean the mustard leaves, remove the big sticks, break the leaves and separate them. 
  2. Wash the leaves with clean water, remove the excess water and prepare the leaves by cutting them lightly.
  3. Clean and wash the soft radish leaves too and cut them finely.
  4. Likewise, clean the spinach, remove the thick stems, break the soft leaves and wash them with clean water, remove the excess water and prepare it by cutting thick fat.
  5. Clean fenugreek leaves, wash and dry them
  6. Put mustard, spinach, radish, and fenugreek leaves in the cooker, add half or a quarter cup of water and close the cooker and cook until 1 whistle comes. 
  7. Turn off the gas when the cooker whistles and let the pressure of the cooker expire.
  8. Wash the tomatoes and green chilies in a mixer jar and make a paste.
  9. Clean coriander leaves as well, wash them and prepare them finely.
  10. Cut the paneer into small pieces and prepare it.
  11. Put 1 teaspoon of oil in a nonstick pan, keep the pieces of cottage cheese in it to roast, and flip it from both sides until it turns golden brown. 
  12. Take out the roasted pieces on a plate.
  13. Put 2-3 tablespoons of oil in the pan. 
  14. When the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, when the cumin seeds are roasted, add asafoetida, ginger paste, coriander powder, and gram flour and fry it a little. 
  15. Add tomato green chili paste and red chili powder and mix and fry the spices till oil starts separating from the spices.
  16. Open the cooker and take out the vegetables and after the vegetables cool down, put them in a mixer jar and grind them coarsely.
  17. After the masala is roasted, add ground vegetables and salt to it and mix. 
  18. When the vegetable comes to a boil, add roasted cottage cheese and green coriander and mix it. 
  19. Cover the vegetable and let it cook on low flame for 4-5 minutes. 
  20. Saag paneer sabzi is ready.
  21. Take out the vegetable in a bowl. 
  22. Garnish with green coriander and put 1-2 teaspoons of desi ghee on top of the paneer, this also increases the taste of the vegetable and it also looks beautiful. 
  23. Serve and eat saag paneer with chapatti, paranthas, naan, or rice.
