Red Velvet Cupcake Ingredients

  • 100 gms of Soft Butter
  • 200 g castor sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 175 ml (ml) buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp red food colour
  • 175 grams plain flour
  • 25 grams corn floor
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp soda bicarbonate

For Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 50 gm butter
  • 125 g Cream Cheese
  • 300 grams of icing sugar

How to make red velvet cupcake

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Mix the butter and sugar together and cream.
  3. Then beat the egg yolk.
  4. Mix buttermilk and red food colour in a separate bowl, it should be very deep red.
  5. Flour, corn flour, baking powder, cocoa powder in a mixture of butter. Mix it well
  6. Whisk the egg whites until it becomes stiff.
  7. In a small bowl, mix vinegar, soda bicarbonate together until bubbles form in the mixture, then gently mix it all together and quickly pour into muffin moulds. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes.
  8. Mix everything together for frosting, fill it in a piping bag, and after it cools completely, apply it on a cupcake.
