Ingredients need to make prawn tikka masala


  • (Cleaned and ribs) 20-25 small prawns

To prepare the masala:


  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • One tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste

For Gravy:


  • 1/2 yogurt
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, puree
  • 1 Tablespoon Kashmiri Red Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • One tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • One tbsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tsp tandoori masala


How to make prawn tikka masala


  1. In a bowl, mix lemon juice, salt, red chili powder, and ginger-garlic paste.
  2. Add the prawn and keep it on the side for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Heat a pan of butter. Add marinated prawns to it and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until it is well cooked. Put them in another bowl.
  4. In this pan, take 2 tablespoons of oil and add cumin seeds.
  5. When it starts crackling, add chopped onion and fry it for 4 to 5 minutes till it turns golden brown.
  6. Fry for a minute by adding ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt to it until the aroma starts coming out of it.
  7. With the help of a blender, prepare tomato puree and pour it into the pan.
  8. Mix it well and cook on a low flame for 3 to 4 minutes till the mixer thickens.
  9. Add cream, curd, and garam masala to it. Mix well and slow down the heat.
  10. Add cooked prawns to it, add tandoori masala powder and salt.
  11. Serve lightly with rice or naan.
