Prawn masala is a simple and instant side dish recipe. This basic Indian recipe is made from prawns. This side dish recipe can be served with rice, it is liked by people of all ages. Must try it at home.


Prawn Masala Recipe Ingredients

  • ½ kg shrimp
  • 2 medium onions
  • ½ tablespoon ginger paste
  • 4 tsp finely turmeric
  • ½ tsp finely ground black pepper
  • 5 pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • ½ tablespoon garlic paste
  • 1 ½ tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder

For decoration

  • 1 handful finely chopped coriander


How to make prawn masala recipe

  1. Clean and wash the prawns thoroughly, remove the excess water from it, and keep it aside.
  2. Cut onion, tomato, and fresh coriander leaves into slices. Prepare ginger and garlic paste.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan. Add onion and fry till it turns golden.
  4. Add ginger and garlic paste and fry it lightly for 1-2 minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves and fry it.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and cook till it mixes well. Now add turmeric powder and salt to it. Mix well and add washed prawns to it.
  6. Slow fry until the shrimp starts to shrink. Add red chili powder, coriander powder, and black pepper powder and mix well.
  7. Cover and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat. Once the spices thicken, sprinkle a few drops of oil over it and fry for a few minutes. The masala does not stick to the bottom, so keep stirring occasionally.
  8. Delicious prawn masala is ready. Garnish with finely chopped coriander and serve it with roti or rice.
