But today we are going to tell you about a very popular dish in South India which is very easy to make. Ven Pongal is a famous South Indian snack that you can serve with sambar or chutney. 
Ingredients for making Veg Pongal: Wayne Pongal is also known as Khara Pongal. Not only this, but Ven Pongal is also offered as an offering to God in South Indian homes. Ven Pongal is made from rice and moong dal. After this, add cumin, black pepper, curry leaves, ginger, and green chili to the desi ghee and add it to the tempering.

Ingredients to make Veg Pongal

  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1/2 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 green chili
  • 1 ginger
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 4 cups curd water
  • Cashew Nuts as per taste
  • 200 grams Ghee
  • Salt to taste

How to make Veg Pongal

  1. Put 100 grams of ghee in the pressure cooker. Add rice and moong dal to it.
  2. Fry them for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add water and salt to it.
  4. Place the pressure cooker lid and cook it till 3C.
  5. Now add remaining ghee, cashew, black pepper, cumin, green chilies, curry leaves, and ginger in a pan.
  6. Fry it for one minute.
  7. Add the prepared tempering to the pressure cooker and mix well.
  8. Serve it hot with chutney or sambar.
